Tim and Carol Noonan
The Noonans are part of three generations of UCP supporters. Tim first began volunteering for UCP in 2002. At the time he and Carol had a son-in-law who was already actively involved with UCP. It was also suggested to Tim by United Way of the Capital Region President and CEO Joe Capita that UCP would provide a good opportunity for him to share his time, expertise and talents. Carol decided to sign up alongside her husband and began volunteering in the infant room at the Capital Area Children’s Center (UCP’s preschool and childcare facility in Camp Hill) in 2002. She continued to do so two days a week through 2009. She now cares for her one-year-old granddaughter, the youngest of her 15 grandchildren.
On April 27, 2012, Tim received the Ethel Hausman Volunteer of the Year Award, one of nine Awards for Excellence bestowed by UCP National at their Annual Conference in Washington, DC.
