Director of Employment and Community Services

Mary deCoen is the Director of Employment and Community Services for UCP Central PA. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership to ensure the sustainability and growth of UCP’s employment and home and community based initiatives. Her efforts will assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their pursuit of a life without limits.

Mary deCoen brings 30 years of experience to UCP working in a variety of service models as direct support and operations: mental health, intellectual disabilities, fee for service programs for adult and children, foster care, supportive employment, senior, and autism. Mary was also a regional sales representative for Tobii Dynavox, which she provided sales, set up and training for Augmented and Alternative Communication Devices, Eye Gaze systems, and expanded AT centers and territories.

With this experience, Mary became the Operations Director at the PA State OLTL for the Home Modification Program, DME, Van Modification, Nursing Home Transition and Assistive Technology programs. This past year, Mary was the Division Director for Keystone Human Services Community Based programs: Life Sharing, Home and Community, Supportive Employment and the Meaningful Day programs.

Mary is a graduate of UMass/Amherst, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Springfield College, Springfield Mass and earned a Masters of Education in Management and Counseling. She resides in Shiremanstown with her husband Jeff.

The Board of Directors for UCP Central PA includes successful community and/or business leaders who desire to give back to the community in a measurable way. They often have an affinity for (if not a personal stake in) UCP, and are willing to put their time, talents, and abilities to work to help sustain and grow programs and services for people with disabilities. The Board provides direction to ensure that the activities of the organization move forward in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
